Design of Residential Villas

General Overview

Since 2015, we have participated in the structural design of several architecturally unique villas.
These projects typically involved multi-story buildings with complex layouts and sophisticated structural solutions.

Révkomárom

In 2017, we were commissioned to design a three-story residential building in Révkomárom, located on the island, almost directly on the banks of the Danube. The planned building, consisting of a basement, ground floor, and one upper floor, was constructed using conventional building technology with a timber roof structure. Its design follows the terrain dictated by the natural slope of the site. The structures of the lower level are almost entirely cast-in-place reinforced concrete, forming a rigid box structure. On the basement level, facing the street side, a garage was constructed, topped with a walkable green roof made of cast-in-place reinforced concrete. Above the living spaces, an additional level of similar footprint was built. On top of this, the timber roof structure was executed, providing the building’s distinctive architectural character and accommodating an upper-floor wellness area and a roof terrace. At the same level as the garage roof, a walkable cast-in-place reinforced concrete green roof was also created around the planned courtyard swimming pool and above the street entrance.

The foundation of the building was designed using conventional shallow foundation methods.
The applied structure is a cast-in-place reinforced concrete raft slab stiffened with bottom ribs, placed over engineered backfill in accordance with the foundation design. Around the planned building, along the property boundaries, cast-in-place reinforced concrete retaining walls were constructed.
This retaining wall system ensures, among other things, the stability of the required backfills for the project.
